On Sunday 2nd September 2007, Gavin Newsom, the Mayor of San Francisco, officially proclaimed the day to be Summer Of Love 40th Anniversary Day. The event was dedicated to three principles: Love, Compassion and Understanding.
Hundreds of musicians, managers, agents, stagehands, techs and roadies all participated to make the Summer of Love 40th possible. The event drew an estimated 100,000 people including 32 bands, 23 speakers, 29 world renowned poster artists, 5000 total backstage passes and 600 media credentials.
