"Ballroom Blitz" was written by Glam song-writing team Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman in 1973,going to straight tonumber 1 in Australia 2 in the UK
The song itself was written about the Grand Hall of the Palace Theatre in Kilmarnock, Scotland, after the band were forced off stage by a barrage of bottles.
Not only is it a great song but has been the victim of some equally great covers: Tia Carrere in Wayne's World ! The Damned ! Krokus ! Nina Hagen !
