Joan Baez,
now 68 years old is probably best known for two things, as a critical protest singer of the 60's and as one of the best interpreter of other people's work, including Dylan, the Stones, and the Beatles.

She's certainly not alone when it comes to the second: many 60's stars made their name with brilliant covers; Richie Havens, Joe Cocker, the Byrds....

It's 48 years since her debut album in 1960 and she has announced that her latests album, Day After Tomorrow, is set for release September, 9, 2008.

It was recorded in Nashville in December and February and is produced by none other than The album will feature three songs written by Steve Earle, including "God Is God," a song Joan debuted during her recent tour. Joan has also recorded songs by Eliza Gilkyson, Patti Griffin, Elvis Costello, Tom Waits, Diana Jones and Thea Gilmore.

Hi Paul,
Joan is actually 68 years old, and it has been 48 years since her debut album. She has been singing professionally for 50 years. Amazing, isn't it? Advance word has been very, very good about the new album. The title song is written by Tom Waitts. It is quite a masterpiece.
