Ryan Adams is probably the most prolific alternative country, producing ten albums since 2000 but many more as the instigator of one of the first alt country bands, Whiskeytown.
He has also been a pretty self-destructive artists until 2006, mixing cocaine and heroine, abusing alchohol and pills, doing an unsuccesful job of trying to kill himself until supported by his girlfirend to go clean
Cardinology is a planned album by Ryan Adams and The Cardinals, due for release on October 28, 2008. You can actually catch early demos of the album on Adams' YouTube account "Horion74"
