Geniuses of Album Cover Art III: Shusei Nagaoka

The third artist I am going to profile on Rock Revival's Geniuses of Album Cover Art is the japanese artist Shusei Nagaoka, best known for his work in the 70's and 80's. His most famous illustration was for ELO's Out of the Blue. The large spaceship was based on the ship created by another great album cover artist, John Kosh, for the album A New World Record.

Shushei also worked for many corporations not assiciated with rock, including General Motors, Ford, Chrysler, Volkswagen, and Lockheed.

Its pretty challenging to hunt down a more detailed bio on him; his site (here) is in Japanese and the english translation leaves a lot to be desired.

Here's a selection of his work.
