Coming up with a name for a band can be a pretty challenging affair, who thought of The Beatles, for God's sake, or the Beach Boys

One solution has been to name your band after one of your favourite songs; here's a few I could think of, got any more ?

Death Cab for Cutie, after Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band's "Death Cab for Cutie" on their album
Gorilla

Deep Purple, after Peter DeRose's "Deep Purple"

Kooks, after David Bowie's "Kooks" from his album Hunky Dory

Powderfinger, after Neil Young's "Powderfinger"

The Sisters of Mercy, after Leonard Cohen's "Sisters of Mercy"

Stiff Little Fingers, after The Vibrators' "Stiff Little Fingers"

Judas Priest, after Bob Dylan's "The Ballad of Frankie Lee and Judas Priest"

Motörhead after Hawkwind's "Motorhead"

The Pretty Things, after Bo Diddley's "Pretty Thing"

Radio Birdman, from a line in The Stooges' "1970"

Radiohead, after the Talking Heads' "Radio Head"

The Rolling Stones, after Muddy Waters' "Rolling Stone"
