Otis Redding is arguably the purest of the 60's soul singers and one of the few who engaged a primarily white rock audience (he attended Monterey). His album OTIS BLUE/OTIS REDDING SINGS SOUL is also considered one of the masterpieces of the genre, “a virtual soul-music primer.” (Rock and Roll Hall of Fame)

It is also placed #74 on its list of the “500 Greatest Albums Of All Time.”

On 22 April 08 Rhino's will release a deluxe 2-CD
COLLECTOR'S EDITION of this masterpiece with mono and stereo mixes of the original album plus previously unreleased tracks

Youll hear Otis's raw takes on “Shake,” “A Change Is Gonna Come”, "My Girl", "Respect" and “Wonderful World”. The highlight though is his soul-shaking version of “(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction” and his sublime take on the Smokey Robinson classic “My Girl.”

Bonus material includes 7 rare alternate versions, plus 6 recorded live at the Whisky A Go Go (LA 1966) and 5 live in Europe in March 1967, 8 months before his untimely death
