Sonny Landreth New Album in Progress 2008

Who does Eric Clapton nominate as the best contemporary blues guitarist ?

Who would you put forward as the best slide guitarist since Duane Allman ?

None other than Mississippi-born, Sonny Landreth.

Landreth is the master of the slide guitar, developing his own unique style, playing the slide with his little finger to allow him to simultaniously play chords with the rest of his hand and tap, slap and pick the strings at the same time.

He mixes hard hitting blues rock with cajun, country, etc.

Landreth has performed on albums by such guitar gods as John Mayall, Mark Knopfler and Buddy Guy and released ten albums in his own right (check out his signature tune “Native Stepson’.

Sonnylandreth.com now reveals that a new album is in the making, his first studio album The Road We’re On (2003). All the website says at this point is that it will have heaps of instrumentals to accommodate the guitar guests that will be joining him. Stay tuned for more info…………………….
