Roy Orbison Finally Recognised as Honorary Beetle

Roy Orbison, crooner of rock. one time member of The Travelling Wilburys with George Harrison has finally been made an honorary Beetle in his own right.

Arizona State University entomologist Quentin Wheeler announced, during an Orbison Tribute Concert, that a species of Indian beetle has been formally named after the singer and his widow, Barbara.

The Beetle was named Orectochilus orbisonorum, after the statesman of rock,

Wheeler has discovered 65 new species in his career, naming them after a host of celebrities, including Darth Vader, George Bush, Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfield, (all killer Beetles ? all from the Dark Side ?)

Barbara Orbison and sons were at the concert: “I have never seen an honor like that,” said Barbara
“It’s a token of admiration for Roy’s body of work and all you do to keep his music alive,” said the Professor.
