Toto in Sydney

If your over 40 "Hold the Line', 'Rosanna' and 'Africa' will be etched in your memory (whether you like it or not). They have been playing for an incredible 30 years, sold 30 million albums and released new material in 2006 with their album, Falling Inbetween. Originally members of Toto were session musicians for bands such as Steely Dan (a very difficult feat) and Boz Scaggs and while some of the original members are no longer with us they play a great mix of rock, soul, pop, prog and jazz. Eddie Van Halen has described them now as "collectively the best musicians on the planet".

I saw Toto live in Chicago at the House of Blues back in November 2006. They put on a FANTASTIC show. It was a belated birthday gift from my wife.

They opened with the title track from their latest album, Falling in Between. At which point my wife pulled my ear close to her mouth and yelled over the din, "You didn't tell me Toto did metal." It made me laugh!
