Man, you know your getting old when a rock star who you still think of as the new breed turns 45 years old. Yes, it's James Hetfield of Metallica's turn to hit middle age (and mine on excactly the same day)
It's pretty interesting to delve into the family history of metal-heads who have been preocuppied with dark themes: Hetfield was from a very strong christian scientist family and he saw his mum die of cancer due to the religion not allowing medical treatment
No wonder he wrote 'The God That Failed', 'Fade to Black' etc. He still looks pretty upset about it all if you ask me......
Makes you wonder what the hell happened to people like Cradle of Filth and HIM when they were young: doesnt bear thinking about....
At 45 Hetfield is a lot more releaxed, he's given up the drink and focusses on his hobbies: skateboarding, hunting, water sports, snowboarding, collecting guitars,etc
