Brian Wilson New Album 'That Lucky Old Sun' Due For Release September 1, 2008

Brian Wilson's Pet Sounds is considered by most to be one of the top masterpieces of rock ever made, a testament to his genius as a songwriter and arranger and proof that there was more to the beach Boys than sun and surf.

A brand new studio album by Brian will be released on September 1, 2008 titled 'That Lucky Old Sun' described as;

'A musical love letter from Southern California, That Lucky Old Sun shimmers with sun-dappled choruses and arrangements that swell and swirl as if carried by the Pacific tides.'

A DVD is included features live and documentary footage of Brian performing at the legendary Capitol Studio A in May 2008.

Brian Wilson New Release: That Lucky Old Sun September 2 2008

Brian Wilson has returned to Capitol Records for the release of his next album, "That Lucky Old Sun" due out on September 2, 2008

The theme of the album is Brian's young days in Southern California, a music a narrative piece that was premiered lin 2007 at London's Royal Festival Hall.

Wilson's last release was "Gettin' in Over My Head" in 2004, the year that also heralded the long-awaited release of "Smile," first slated for the mid-1960's

Brian Wilson @ The Sydney Festival


Jan 5 Brian Wilson will headline the Sydney Festival, playing at the Domain right after Paul Kelly at 915. This set will be classic Beach Boys-oriented and is free.

January 7 & 8, Brian and his ten-piece band will preview songs from his forthcoming album, That Lucky Old Sun (A Narrative), a tribute to California which premiered earlier this year to great reviews at London's Royal Festival Hall.

Jan 9 at 8pm Brian will play the seminal album Pet Sounds in total at the Sate Theatre, hailed as one of the important albums of all time.
