WNEW-FM was a New York Radio station with a significant place in rock history. It played a significant role in breaking Bruce Springsteen who would sometimes call up the DJs during while his tracks were playing
John Lennon performed as guest-DJ, The Grateful Dead would hang out in the studio, the station also broke Emerson, Lake and Palmer in he States
In the late 70's the station hosted live broadcasts from the Greenwich Village night club, with The Police, Joe Jackson, and Squeeze all in attendance
Well, I am excitined to say that WNEW has now gone live on the web: it has some great features, including streamed music, interviews from this classic period (Stones, Lennon, Who, etc), lots of stuff on contemporary music and heaps of posts by your truly.
