After much encouragement thru comments on the blog and thru emails I have decided to keep a trickle of posts going on the site and where else to start thatn to tell you about one of the best CD's I have heard this year, the just released 'Blackbird' by aussie Katie Noonan
Jazz versions of Beatles songs probably dont sound all that inspiring but BELIEVE ME this one you cant miss. She has the voice of an angel and reinterprets songs like Eleanor Rigby, Norwegian Wood, Accross the Universe in a way that puts her up there with the best Beatles interpetors there have ever been.
.........and the best news.....the great John Schofield and Joe Lovano are part of the band..
