Well, it's turning out to be a psychedelic folk week of sorts on Rock Revival and thats not possible without mentioning the Irish band Dr Strangely Strange
They signed up with the producer of the Incredible String Band and debuted in 1969 with Kip of the Serenes, an album pretty simlar to Incredible String, a hard feat to achieve indeed.
In 1970 they released Heavy Petting,a rockier album and their last until the 80's
They went their seperate ways, one heading off to a Buddhist Monastry (as you do) and two others, teaming up temporarily with 2 members of Steeleye Span, Gay and Terry Woods
Tim Booth, vocalist of Dr Strangely would eventually play a hand in promoting Irish rock, including helping to launch the careers of Phil Lynott and Gary Moore
The band also reunited for their'Difficult Third Album', 26 years after the second and played a one-off gig in January, 2008.

I thought you might be interested in the next London gig by Dr Strangely Strange. In February 2009 Hux Records is releasing a remastered Collector’s Edition of their landmark album Kip Of the Serenes with bonus tracks. I’ve taken the plunge and put the band on at The Gaff in the Holloway Road just a few minutes’ walk from Holloway Road tube (Piccadilly line).
Date: Saturday 21 February 2009. Doors: 7.30
Original members Tim Booth, Tim Goulding and Ivan Pawle, augmented by Joe Thoma (fiddle and mandolin and a Strangely since 1980) will perform the entire Kip album, plus a variety of material from their early career and maybe a few new songs. Support: Sgt Buzfuz
