Rock Revival's Forgotten Classics(1972): Trapeze 'You Are The Music....We're Just the Band'..

Trapeze are one of the lost bands of the 70's, headed up by Glenn Hughes, later of Deep Purple, they were a breeding ground for artists that would later join Purple, Whitesnake, Judas Priest and Uriah Heep.

They formed in '69 and this album, their third, was Glenn's last. Typically Trapeze are konwn for hard funk rock; this album catches them in a more jazzy mood, including sax and vibes plus Hughes using a lower more soulful voice.

Stand out tracks are "Keepin' Time", "Coast to Coast" and "What Is a Woman's Role".

Hughes would join Deep Purple soon after, replacing Roger Glover. The band would retain a fluid membership right through to 1991 and 1994 reunions with the original members

Glenn Hughes is certainly a stayer, catch his new album F.U.N.K, out a few weeks ago

Have any of you heard about the Patron Music in Motion Tour? It’s an amazing program that’s raising money for music education programs and rebuilding homes in New Orleans. A friend of mine told me that people won an all expense paid trip to Lollapalooza and they’re sending people to the Virgin Mobile Music Festival and you can even win tickets to the VMAS! I am totally signing up! You just create a fundraising page, at www.musicinmotiontour.com
