Flower Travellin Band Reunion, New Album ('We Are Here') and Tour

Flower Travellin' Band were a late 60's and early 70's Japanese psychedelic and heavy metal band consisting of Akira "Joe" Yamanaka (vocals), Hideki Ishima (guitar), Joji "George" Wada (drums) and Jun Kozuki (bass). They also had a feamle vocalist,Remi Aso,seen as the Japanese Janis Joplin

Satori (1971) is probably their best known album in the West, a precursor to stoner rock and doom, proof that Japan could certainly break ground in the history of rock.

The band were also, famously billed to open for the Rolling Stones in Japan, a gig that failed to occur because of Mick Jagger's visa problems

In January this year the band reunited and have a new album in production, due 17 September called 'We Are Here'

Flower Travellin' Band will play five gigs in Yokohama, Sapporo, Nagoya, Osaka, and Tokyo throughout September and into early October on their post-festival "We are Here" Japanese tour.
