Beyond Robert Johnson ? What If Karlheinz Stockhausen Was The King of the Blues ?

Many years ago I read Piero Scaruffi's The History of Rock and didnt know what the hell he was talking about. Why put Captain Beefheart's Trout Mask Replica as the number 1 album of all time, who really cares about Brian Jonestown Massacre or German and Italian progressive rock of the 70's ? Who the hell is Amon Duul anyway ?

Well, now I am kind of getting it, still dont agree with him about Trout Mask Replica and many other things, but I think I can see where he is coming from, at least. Still love Deep Purple and the Beatles, even The Sweet, Piero, but know I kind of know what you mean....

Imagine Alice, falling down the hole, far from the land of the blues, Eric, Rory, Johnny Winter, Foghat, The Faces and Stones slowly beyond reach. Who do you see ? Yes, Captain Beefheart, certainly Velvet Underground, maybe even Eric Dolphy.....but then things get stranger.......here come the chimes of Can, Cluster, Popol Vuh; there is Robert Wyatt, the Boredoms, Shpongle, Atom Mothers Temple.....heading down to an adventure beyond rock.........

Who'll be there to meet you; Frank Zappa makes a good Rabbit, half blues half Varese and jingles, the Muffin Man

There you are, the land beyond the blues............

The Mad Hatter is easy (Syd), Eno and Fripp as Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee, the Chesire Cat (any ideas)........the Queen of Hearts, perhaps Piero himself, Kraftwerk as the deck of cards, God Speed You Black Emperor..............
