Mountain
was a highly influential American rock band from the late 60's and early 70's. They are perhaps best known for their hit song "Mississippi Queen" but were critical in the development of hard rock and one of the forerunners of heavy metal.

Mountain broke up in 1972 and guitarist Leslie West joined Jack Bruce and Corky Laing to produce three albums under the moniker West, Bruce and Laing. West also appeared on The Who's album Who's Next.

Mountain reformed in 1985 and released Go For Your Life. They have stayed together since this time (in 2007 releasing Masters of War, featuring 12 Bob Dylan covers and a guest appearance from Ozzy Osbourne).

West and Laing would produce two studio albums and a live release with Cream bassist Jack Bruce under the name . Mountain reformed in 1974 only to break up a few years later, but since 1985 has continued to tour and record.

A digitally remastered version of Go For Your Life will be released August 12, 2008. Go For Your Life also features Corky Laing, Felix Pappalardi, Ian Hunter, Ron Dante (The Archies) and many other guest musicians
