A show on British Radio (Radio 4) called the FBI at 100, due to go to air next Monday, will reveal that Mick Jagger was the victim of a failed attempt on his life by Hell's Angels in 1969The Rolling Stones famously used the Angels as security at their answer to Woodstock, held at Altamont Speedway, Californa, in the same year.
This concert is seen by many as signaling the end of the hippy movement, after things turned ugly and the Angel's killed an 18 year old fan, Merideth Hunter, and beat up many others in front of Mick and the rest of the Stones.
Mick Jagger was appalled and stated publicly that he would never used the Hell's Angels again.
The gang retaliated by planning to kill him while he was on holiday on Long Island. The men tried to surprise Mick by travelling by boat;
"The boat was hit by a storm and all of the men were thrown overboard, they all survived but made no other attempt on his life"
The FBI agent vhas also stated that Mick was not made aware of this attempt
