Men and Machine: Saxon to Play Australia in May 2008

In the 1980's 'The New Wave of British Heavy Metal' hit the States. proving that the Demise of Black Babbath and Led Zeppelin was only a temporary glitch (other NWBHM bands: Demon, Tank, Venom, Judas Priest, Diamond Head, Girlschool, Motorhead)

These Yorshire boys help cement the long haired leather look, a relief, given the predominance of the LA glam metal look of this decade.

Saxon survived the onslaught of Glam metal, along with Iron Maiden and Judas Priest, 100's of lesser known bands were relegated to the history books.

Nowadays Saxon are most popular in Germany. They still tour regularly and are due in Australia in May of this year.

Originally the tour was due for October 2007 but was postponed due to problems with visas
