Me & The Devil Box Set: Peter Green Release Febuary 25 2008

The soft-rock band, Fleetwood Mac, of Riannen, Dreams, etc was originally called Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac, focusing on blues-rock, before Green’s departure in 1970 due to drug-induced schizophrenia. Prior to this Green had been a member of the seminal group, John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers, filling in for another blues legend, Eric Clapton.

He re-surfaced in the late 70’s as a solo artist and again in 1990’s, with the Peter Green Splinter Group, releasing 9 albums between 1997 and 2003.

Febuary 25, 2008 sees the re-release of the Devil & Me Box Set, previously only avaialble to 10,000 lucky fans in 2001.

This album caters to Peter Green’s obsession with Robert Johnson.

The first CD is Hot Foot Powder, the first by the Splinter Group, consisting of all Robert Johnson songs, with Guests Otis Rush, Honeyboy Edwards, Dr. John, Hubert Sumlin, and Joe Louis Walker.

The second is The Robert Johnson Songbook, featuring a guest appearance by Paul Rodgers, of Free, Bad Company, the Firm and now Queen.

The third is a 28 track CD of Robert Johnson originals, chosen by Green himself.
